Melanie Romanaux grew up in Northern Virginia with two parents who owned and ran their own respective businesses. She double majored in English and Psychology at Wingate University and went on to complete her Master’s in Education at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta. After working at Apple for a few years, Melanie found her passion in social media, entrepreneurship and leadership and founded Somedia in 2010. When she’s not speaking, or teaching, or fundraising or serving clients, Melanie’s recharging at Crossfit or vegging out with a good book, her husband and their dog (#Pennythewonderdog).

1. What excites you most about waking up in the morning and working at Somedia Solutions?
The opportunity to enrich the lives of my clients and their customers through meaningful connections and conversations. I LOVE creating passionate customers for my clients through remarkable brand experiences and micro-moments that last a lifetime.
2. What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
Watching my clients’ successes – a re-brand and re-introduction to the market, opening multiple locations within 3 years, the launch of a brand new consumer concept in the Southeast, the remarkable stories my clients tell that end up reaching over 96 million people worldwide.
Social media has the power to transform brands and their relationships with their customers and I LOVE making and watching that happen.
3. What is a notable highlight for you (personally or professionally) within the last 2 months?
I was recently featured as facilitator and speaker at Social Media Strategies Summit in Chicago.
4. How has being a part of the Roam community impacted you and your team?
We’ve been a part of Roam since we incorporated because we knew from the beginning that we wanted to reinvest in the company and in building relationships – not in some office space we didn’t even own. Roam was the perfect fit. Having just opened 4 weeks prior in Alpharetta, we were one of Roam’s first members. Since then, Somedia has helped quite a few Roam members with their social media and we proudly introduce our network to Roam wherever possible. We take good care of Roam by constantly bringing new people through their door and they take good care of us by being thoughtful in making valuable introductions to other Roam members.
5. Tell us a fun fact that most people might not know about you.
I am passionate about personally developing myself as an athlete. I’m very into Crossfit and am currently exploring my personal handstand journey.
