Our Journey to a Vision Driven Culture
Editor’s note: Last week, Blake Shubert, Director of Organizational Development at Roam, shared his thoughts on how to lead with vision. Today’s second installment gives insight into how Roam aims to live out these vision-oriented principles. Each day we experience growth and learning in this area, and while we have certainly not arrived, our desire is that Roam’s story may inspire other young companies to start their own journeys toward establishing vision driven cultures.
To renew and inspire how the world does business as partners in the story of accomplished dreams.
- Renew – to give fresh life or strength to
- Inspire – to fill (someone) with the urge or ability to do or feel something, especially to do something creative
- Dreams – a cherished aspiration, ambition, or ideal
How did Roam get here? It starts with a core belief. Unlike the mainstream attitude that views work as an act of drudgery, together our team believes work should be experienced as a virtuous, energizing and fulfilling act of value creation. We strive to serve all businesses and organizations so that they are inspired to persevere in their dreams while experiencing work as a life-giving endeavor.
Today our vision continues through the intentional pursuit of 40 individual lives (and counting) who make up the Roam team. Together our values have converged into this awesome, collective purpose of redefining the way the world views work. The unique intersection of our personal and professional histories with Roam’s vision motivate our efforts each day.
To renew and inspire how the world does business… yes, it definitely says world, as in all peoples, societies and institutions on earth. Are we naive and idealistic? Absolutely! Are we out of our minds? There is a chance! Can we really have an impact on the world? Most definitely yes! And I’d argue that we already are.
