Since eXp Realty is the only cloud based realty company, could you share a little bit more about it and how this cutting edge concept came to be?
The cloud-based platform for real estate came to existence because of the recent real estate downturn. With fewer homes selling, it was harder to be profitable running a bricks and mortar based real estate firm. The timing was perfect because the technology and ability to access an online office is now available and happening across 30+ states and Canada. Our national headquarters cost a third of what a local real estate office costs to run. This gives us the ability to offer our agents all kinds of perks that no other firms are able to.
2. What is it about eXp Realty that gave it a place on the AJC top 25 places to work?
I think the coolest thing about winning the AJC top 25 workplaces is that we do not even have a physical office. We might be the only ones on the list that do not. That truly speaks volumes for our online cloud office community and the environment that we are able to provide to our agents without physical brick and mortar meeting space. I truly believe that our agents are happier and more productive. This is one of the main reasons why we were ranked so high in Atlanta for places to work.
3. Why are you passionate about what you’re accomplishing through your business?
The most exciting part of my job is encouraging and assisting in the personal success of our agents. I love being able to help them grow their business and at the same time have more time to spend with their family, or whatever they may choose, by having a cloud-based office. On a weekly basis I am able to give back 7 to 10 hours on average of drive time and prep time by utilizing our cloud office for meetings and classes. This is one thing that really excites me about our model.
4. What is the advantage of a place like Roam for someone in your industry, and how has it helped advance your business?
As beautiful as the Roam facilities are, the staff makes the real difference. I actually walked out the other Friday and said out loud, “Man, I love this place!” The staff is so supportive and I feel like they are an integral part of my business as I am attracting new
agents to our firm, attending Lunch Lessons, or hosting a meeting. They always greet us with a smile and a hello, and send us off with a friendly goodbye. I often joke about this and tell people that the monthly cost is a small price to pay for having a group of people who are so sincerely nice to you.
5. If one were to read through your linked in profile, they would notice one of your interests is BMX. That’s a pretty adventurous interest! How did that come to be one of your likes?
Funny, I’ve always enjoyed riding BMX bikes and now that I’m older and not so nimble, I enjoy collecting them. I have a basement full of early 1980s bicycles that I enjoy working on and occasionally riding around the block. Nothing too crazy![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
