John was born in Seoul, South Korea, and grew up in Atlanta. He worked as a café server and a marketing assistant for an envelope machine company until I landed an internship with Qualfon. John enjoys hiking, running and just about anything sports-related.

Qualfon is a BPO or a Business Process Outsourcing company. Often we’re called “Call Centers” but in reality we do a lot more than that. Typically an employee at Qualfon makes or answers sales or customer service calls, interactive chats or emails. We are in 4 countries: US, Mexico, Guyana and Philippines. And after recent acquisitions, we’ve reached a total headcount of about 13,000 persons. I say persons because we are a person-centered company and through our STRIDES (Service, Teamwork, Results, Integrity, Dignity, Encouragement, and Spirituality) seek to make each Qualfon employee’s employment the best experience, as well as, deliver each person the best customer service possible. Our motto is be the best BPO and make lives better.

What attracted you to Qualfon as an organization?

I wanted to make a difference for my own life and the people I worked for. I liked Qualfon’s mission and what it stood for. I liked the pace and the flexibility. My international background kicked in and the people that I encountered spoke and motivated me. Working in a big corporation is tiring and always will be. The amount of stress increases per moving part, and I think that my situation is no different. I offer the best I can each day to be a ‘good fit’ and do what I can. I encourage those that need encouragement and learn daily from countless examples.

2. What do you find most fulfilling about your current role on the Qualfon team?

There is no doubt that it is the persons I encounter on a daily basis. Although I daily work remote from home or at Roam, I meet people from the Philippines, Guyana, Mexico and the US. I meet them and they inspire me through their work, stories, projects and dreams. I enjoy the opportunities I have to strategize at a higher level and not accept the status quo. I enjoy encouraging and empowering leaders and their potential leadership.

3. If you could accomplish one thing every day, what would that one thing be?

Be the best husband I can be. Be the best team player I can be. That’s two things, but I imagine it’s the same identity just in two platforms. At Home/at Work.

4. What is the greatest benefit of working from Roam?

There is no doubt in my mind that it is a great place to launch. I have met countless individuals that inspire and motivate me at Roam. What I realize is that I also have something to contribute. Gaining that something makes it worth working at Roam.

5. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A lot of things. The one most poignant now as I am getting married: I wanted to be like my Dad.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
